"Gateway to the Lower Fox River Dells"
Sheridan Grade School held their D.A.R.E. Graduation on Wednesday, April 27, at 7:00 p.m. in the school gym. Twenty-one Fifth graders completed the program.
Sheridan Village Police Chief Chuck Bergeron conducted the 8 session program teaching them the importance of staying drug and alcohol free and to encourage them to make good choices.
Mr. Brian Towne, LaSalle County States Attorney, and Ms. Nikki Robinson, warden of the Sheridan Correctional Center, were the guest speakers. They both encouraged the students to make good choices about drugs and alcohol and explained that they both deal with people every day that did not make good choices.
The program is sponsored in part by the Village of Sheridan and from donations from Sheridan businesses and individuals. This is the fifteenth year the Village has sponsored this wonderful program.
Pizza was provided for the graduates and their families.
